A little business tonight boys and girls…something that has been coming up a lot lately is scaling.  It is something we have preached since the day the doors opened January 14th.  We need to do a better job of knowing what our limits are before the clock starts…whether its weight or its a skill, you should have a pretty good idea of what you are capable of before 321 go.  Before every workout the coaches discuss the scaled options….these are your options for scaling.  We do not create our own scaling options mid-workout, this causes chaos for those around you and the coaches.  If you have an injury that prevents you from a certain move a coach needs to know it and they will help you come up with an alternative.  Bottom line: Leave your ego at the door.  Struggling with getting your chin over the bar on pullups? use a band…can’t lock on on handstand pushups?  take away the plates/add an abmat/go to a box…KB causing bad technique?  Go lighter.  At the end of the day its a workout and if you continue to put in the work, participate in the auxiliary exercises that help build skills and scale when you need to I have no doubt you’ll reach your goals.  Stay humble, stay hungry and stay healthy.
